RelevantEdge web tracker — based tail.js technology
To support end-to-end data protection, RelevantEdge introduced the RelevantEdge web tracker based on the tail.js open-source project.
Unlike traditional web trackers, the RelevantEdge tracker is integrated with the content management platform (CMS or otherwise) to provide analytics insights based on your content architecture.
The RelevantEdge tracker user automated event tracking to reduce the need for manual tagging.
The tracker uses server-side technology and user-session scoped data model, ideal for better understanding user behavior.
Cookie encryption and other techniques ensure that user data is less prone to being blocked or subject to cookie expiration policies.
A variety of delivery models
By default, the RelevantEdge solution for Umbraco is provided as a managed solution. We work with your IT team to assist with deploying our containerized data service. We provide custom data modeling if needed. And we assist KPI workshops and with dashboarding or support your team.
Our preferred approach is collaborate with existing web and commerce solution providers you may already be working with.
Key features
RelevantEdge for Umbraco provides an alternative to traditional analytics (e.g., Google Analytics).
All of your organization’s unified website analytics data remains securely in your organizations hosting and BI environment.
The Power BI model and DAX is auto-generating, saving hundreds of hours that would otherwise be needed.
Stakeholders can freely collaborate using Power BI and Microsoft 365.
The RelevantEdge solution includes an SQL data warehouse containing unified website and marketing data.
Activate data using the secure API endpoint.
Maintain control of your organization’s data — and avoid costly data storage and query subscriptions from traditional marketing SaaS providers.
Unify Data
The RelevantEdge solution makes extensive use of automation and intelligent data schema discovery.
This includes adding new data sources and even websites in a multi-site Umbraco solution.
For example, when a new page, form or event site is added to Umbraco, no manual work is needed to see BI insights for these elements when published.
When a user submits a webform and is created as a lead or opportunity in CRM, the updated record in CRM is shown in the BI report … within seconds.
RelevantEdge uses automation to dramatically reduce the need for manual website tagging, data stitching, and BI coding for dimensions, table relations, fields, measures and more.
Cookieless tracking option
The RelevantEdge tracker (based on tail.js) natively integrates with the consent mode standard used by consent management tools.
When a website user is presented with a consent banner, the user’s selection is joined with the user’s session data. With this the subsequent events (views, clicks, scrolls, form submits) are filterable by the four consent selections (and combinations) in BI for insights.
The RelevantEdge tracker provides the option for cookieless tracking for users that select the necessary only consent option. Privacy directives such as GDPR do not forbid associating events such as page views by page name with a user’s session as long as a cookie is not placed on the user’s device.
Consent management integration
In BI and reporting, you are able to view, for example, page views by consent selection — including anonymous and any consent (performance, statistics and marketing).
With this, marketers get a more comprehensive understanding of how all users engage with content across all consent selections.
